The Problem

You're not a bad plant parent.
You just can't see underground.

The number one way people kill houseplants is overwatering. The number two way is forgetting to water. Both problems share the same cause — you cannot see what is happening at the root level until something goes wrong.

"By the time something looks wrong, it usually already is."

Analog meters give you a vague number with no context. Bluetooth sensors give you an app and a battery that dies in three weeks. Neither one tells you what to actually do for your specific plant. You're left guessing — and your plants pay for it.

From the Founder

I have nine plants. I've killed more than I'd like to admit.

Not because I didn't care — but because I couldn't see what was happening underground until it was too late. The soil looked fine. The leaves looked fine. And then one morning, they didn't.

I've spent years building wireless sensing systems for environments where failure wasn't an option. That work was featured by CNN and selected for TechCrunch Battlefield. I know what it takes to build a sensor that actually works in the real world.

Buddie IQ is the product I wished existed for my own plants. I'm building it because the tools available today were not built for people who genuinely care.
